Molly O. Johnson, Office Assistant
Molly is pleased to return to church office work! She was previously employed in the Worship & Praise Dept. at Sagemont Church in Houston, TX. She also worked as receptionist and attendance clerk at Friendswood Friends Church in Friendswood, TX. Molly holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature from The University of Houston, Clear Lake with a focus on 19th century British authors. She also enjoys painting, writing, acting and reading British mysteries!
Molly was raised in the Baptist Church and has worshipped in the Quaker church, but she joined St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in 2015, and also met her husband John Johnson there. They were married on Christmas Eve 2016 in the Sanctuary by Rev. Susie.
She is a native of Friendswood, TX, but family roots brought her to Lampasas! Her maternal great-grandfather William Standard was the first paid fireman of Lampasas, and her great-grandmother, Lucile Standard was a local photographer. Molly’s grandmother, Jessie Lucile Standard, was born and raised here along with her 5 siblings, LaVerne, Walter Gail, Jim, Ted Kaye and Bill Shirley. Molly’s parents John & Judy Smith, retired to Lampasas in 2000 after John worked 33 years for NASA at Johnson Space Center. She followed them here in 2014. She has a brother Dr. Chris Smith, who is an associate history professor at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Molly & her husband John Johnson reside in Copperas Cove with daughter Catie.
